The pack contains tips, strategies, and information for teachers on how they can best support their students/pupils with invisible illnesses. It is a guide to be used as a starting point for working with young people, families and health professionals, to help ensure everyone is supported.
It covers topics such as communication strategies, trust and mental health. Most importantly, it offers some practical strategies that can easily be implemented into the classroom, showing that sometime a small accommodation can go a long way.

An individual health passport that a young person can fill in to explain about their individual needs and what is important to them. This can be useful in starting up a conversation ensuring the support is tailor made for each individual.

This pass allows a young person to leave the class when needed to go to the toilet or take a little time out if they are not feeling well. No lengthy or uncomfortable explanation needed.

Inspired by Grace Warnock, a young person living with Crohn’s disease. A sign to show that not all disabilities are visible. An accessible toilet should be available to people with an invisible illness in schools.
